Hi Katie,

Sounds like a wonderful piece!

The Globe Wernickie's that are made of quartered oak hold the most value. The Desk is what they call a D-12 desk unit. I assume it has a flat front as opposed to a projection to it. The draw in the base is a very nice touch to the piece as well.

It is a very valuable piece; the desk sections by Globe Wernicke are hard to come by. It should have two drawers in the inside and numerous cubby holes. Condition is everything.

To get a good idea of its value, go to ebay and do an advanced search on "Globe Wernicke Desk" and search on completed items only. There are several on there and you can see the ending price and compare them to the condition of yours

Hope this helps!
