Hello,

You got yourself quite an awesome set of bookcases here. Globe Wernicke started to manufacture the "Ideal" line of bookcases in 1903 and continued into the early 1920s. This is their top of the line peice, expensive to purchase back then, and very scarce to find today. My catalog lists a 3 stack Ideal case retailing for 54.00 back in 1912, compared to 13.75 for a standard style case.

I really dont like to give an estimate of value, since ultimately its how much one will pay for it. Search for Globe Wernicke on Ebay and check out the final auction prices for nice oak globe wernicke cases. Im sure a very good condition Ideal line (even though its mahogany) could fetch at least much or perhaps alot more than these. And since you have 2 cases, youre in pretty good shape.

Hope this helps!
