I have Globe Wernicke bookcase, Pattern# 108, 110, and 2 are 112, all grade 299,original labels perfect. "standard D-81/2", pattern 108, grade 299 is an example of the labels. The top and bottom are curved. Based on grade 299, you have have said it is golden quartered oak---why does it look so dark? This one has been in a damp area, and needs to be "cleaned up", but no chips on the wood, all mechanisms work well, glass is in tact, metal bands are intact. Can the bands be "cleaned up". Are they copper or brass? One of the backs is warped. Can this be replaced? Does it reduce the value of the piece? I know NOTHING about antiques, only what I have researched about this, as it's in my cellar from a previous owner. Your e-mails have given me a lot of information. Please respond. Thank you Ginie Keller
