The finish may be blushedm moisture being forced into it by the hot dish. You can get Blush eraser from Wood Workers Supply ( they have a website woodworkers supply.com )and lightly spray it over the affected area. Or you can try rubbing the area with mayonaise or peanut butter (not the chunky variety) and see if that will remove the blush.
