Thank you for the history lesson, Greg. When I stripped my tabletop, the citrus strip stuff removed it very easily. I found a gorgeous made in China tabletop, and am considering replacing it because it is larger and I can have the pedestals set closer to the middle so the chairs pull all the way in. I hesitate because of all the repairability problems discussed about lacquer, and this piece does need a few touch ups. But it is so gorgeous, and bigger, I'd like to try it. But I do not want any of that pressed or plywood stuff that is gooped together with glues. What do you think they're using in China? Somebody's on the board trying to sell that stuff, but I haven't gotten an answer from her. Thank you, and Happy New Year!
