Hello James, Are your referring to the stencil on the back...??? It's on top of un-finished ply (seems to be about 1/8 - 3/16" thick - with 3 ply's...

I'm pretty sure the paint is NOT original - but I'll soon learn more, after stripping the finish off... I'll update when this happens!!
