I agree about the ground nuts, they are a polishing agent that is used for it's oil as a touch-up and scratch hide, almond stick for example. The suggestion for tobacco ashes often mentions cigars as a good source, better grade and no salt peter. From the tests I have done I have found the only real advantage to other blush removal techniques is that when I removed the mayonnaise from the finish it had not altered the sheen of the finish, a big plus for some jobs. On another note, the cleaner I mentioned a few weeks ago on this topic, chlorine bleach and baking soda, for cleaning off old mayonnaise, produced no dangerous fumes and less odor than bleach alone. Then I realized that baking soda is used to neutralize many caustic and acid substances, so there is no need to worry about the chance of producing an unsafe gas with the cleaner combination of the two ingredients ;-)
