Hi- I much appreciate your recommendations. I agree that the high gloss shellac would look the best, but I'm going to go with brushing varnish-somethingI can do pretty well. These people will use this piece, and theyre a little hard on the furniture. Shellac is kind of delicate, and also I dont think I could do it right on such a large area. Pre-cat laq. is something I used all the time when I had good spray equipt. & booth. I wish I could do that now! Thanks again. Bernie. P.S. Is Danish oil stain substantially different from a penetrating oil stain? or an oil gel-stain? B.
