Many European armoires and other large cabinets are designed to be taken apart...they utilize pegged mortise and tenon joints with tapered pegs and never any glue, and you can take them completely apart. This design element goes way back in furniture history. I would remove the back boards first and look at the construction. If it's mortise and tenon a few sharp raps with a dead blow mallet may loosen things up...you can even inject the the joints with a warm water and vinegar solution that will loosen the glue...if the carcase is dovetailed then taking it apart is almost impossible with out breaking something. I have also cut apart cabinets like these before, and you can use a japanese hand saw like the Shark brand saws available widely....they have the thinnest kerf, So thin that it removes almost no wood, and so sharp that they cut effortlessly at the joint lines. Then floating tenons can be fitted to put the piece back together again with the original strength, although that takes some fairly advanced skills.....in any event careful examination should give you the clues you need to disassemble the piece successfully.....best of luck
