20 years ago I refinished an old walnut desk. An antique dealer suggested I use a combination of linseed oil, denatured alcohol, and beeswax. I poured a little on a surface, rubbed with steel wool and removed old varnish and dirt. I still have the desk and it still looks good.
Someone gave me an old walnut drop leaf. Should I do the same for it? Also, I do not remember the porportions of oil, alcohol, and beeswax. The desk does not have glasses, etc. set on it. I( want to be sure the table doesn't get watermarked. I would appreciate advice.
