Forgot about the magnets. You can get them lots of places. Ebay has them. I did a search for "Rare Earth Magnet" and got a number of hits. Science type store have them. Radio Shack probably has them. Craft stores may have them too. I suggest the flat round ones, since you would be able to just drill a hole in the wood to the depth of the magnet and then just add a drop of glue to the magnet and insert it into the hole. You'd want the face of the magnet to be flush with the bottom of the wood. The square ones are harder to use since you can't drill a square hole. You don't need much in the way of holding strength. 1 per corner of plywood about 1/2" in diameter would be enough I'd think.
