Thanks for the info Greg. I have used Draino on mahogany and let me tell you,it really brings out the red color. I have also used baking soda which nicely ages mahogany. The pine is definitely "pitch" pine and most commonly is from old tobbaco barns that have been torn down. Makes mighty purdy furniture. IF I could post a pic, I would let you see a highboy I made for my wife out of pine.
