I once saw a posting on how to mix stain to simulate the old pine appearance. I build reproductions using southern yellow pine and typically use a combination of burnt umber, terpentine to stain most pieces. I vary the amount of pigment to achieve the desired result. I would like to have another option in my bag of tricks. Appreciate any help. As I recall it was a combination of burnt umber, yellow orchere, vandyke brown. I don't recall the formula amounts.
