I have an almost twin size brass bed that has been in my family forever. The springs were discarded years ago because the were not salvageable. I am now looking to reuse this bed which I have restored. My problem is how to support the mattress. I got some wood bed slats at a yard sale only to find that the rails on this bed go like this (7) not like this (L)-if you understand. I got a pillow top mattress for it so I want something that won't raise the mattress any higher (or you'll need a ladder to get into bed!). Any suggestions? I was thinking of some kind of straps? Thank you, Nancy
