Hi Polly, any idea how old this is??...typically these moldings and appliques are either composite (meaning basically sawdust and a glue binder), or Resin castings. The composite ones can be stripped carefully, and most resin ones can be too....I would try stripping one out of the way area of one to test...Also you might try different types of strippers, NMP (CitruStrip), Methylene Chloride (which is hard on plastics), etc. If it is actually plaster, it's probably strippable as well....just test
