Bill....I think I left off a "0" when suggesting you use it to apply the wax.....00 may be too coarse....also, try the same technique without the steel wool if the surface is in good shape with a balled up rag about the size of a grapefruit.Polo shirt type material is good for this, and a fair amount of elbow grease is required.The idea is to use the circular rubbing motions to amalgamate the surface and quickly follow with the long strokes with the grain to spread an even film on the surface...only use the steel wool as an applicator if the surface has water spots, greyish/whitish areas, etc.....as long as it is a wax finish to begin with...you should have good results...
