Simply based on what I have seen as these chairs have been disassembled in my shop, and then sent on for upholstery, after we have completed our part would be to stick to the original elements. The webbing and a coil spring with a coarse padding then cotton bat. all tied and rough stitched before upholstery is applied. The current process involves a lot of foam from some shops, and that is between the owner and the repair shop. I would do what was done first if they were mine.
