wine stains on mahagony veneer

A client has this wine stains that seem to have "dyed" through damaged lacquered veneer. What should I use to clean the rubby stain? I have read to use some bleach, some oxalic acid, even some silver polishing product... After light sanding, I could even lightly tone the second or third coat of rubbing lacquer with green in order to complement and anihilate the reddish hue... Any better solution ? Thank you !
