How should I restore a very old butter press - it is fully intact, but has cracks in the wood due to drying out - I recently acquired this neat old butter press from my Mom and she remembers her mother making the butter in it and then she would sell it to the neighbors for 20 cents a pound. Maybe I should just rub it down with butter until it's natural patina shows?? Thanks
