Thanks Bill...love to see some pictures of your table..this type of heartwood pine can be really beautiful, and will darken even more with age, UV exposure and oxidation...if the surface is in overall good condition, just a bit lifeless,..I would try a coat of a Dark paste wax like Briwax's Rustic Pine or Liberons Black Bison in Antique Pine.You can apply these polishes with a 00 steel wool pad starting with a circular motion in tight circles about the size of the wax tin's, and finishing off with long strokes with the grain, then let dry and buff off well....available at woodworker.com.
