I can'thank all of you enough for all of your help. After trial and error, I took off the finish and started over. I stained it and put 2 coats of polyurathane. It looks very nice if I do say so myself. Why did I not do the chair myself to start with??? I appreciate all the time you took to help me. Dawn C. Cytacki
