i worked in automotive service for years and it amazing how similar the business is to furniture repair. We had butchers in auto service and we do in this business too. There has to be an amount of trust that the person you are dealing with is competent but it is best if you can see the person's work before you hire them. I will invite any customer to my shop or my home to see my work, but few take me up on the offer so I carry a scrap book with pics of peices I have done. Maybe people should ask for such things before hiring a refinisher.
