fixing the finish on an antique

I recently bought 2 twin mahogany beds. I cleaned them with Murphy's oil soap. I think I rubbed part of the varnish off on one of the headboards. It looks like white or grey areas. How can I correct this without refinishing the headboard. This is still the original finish from early 1800's.
