To me it looks like it's from the late 40's...are the appliques (faux dividers) on the glass made of plywood?The hardware appears to be stamped, not cast and I believe James is probably right that you'll find a mish mosh of sort of secondary type woods in the construction....it may have been a "Cherry Finish"....but I doubt it's Cherry..it' shows signs of factory construction techniques of that era...and you might indeed be disapointed with what's really underneath....only one way to really know though....
