In Response To: restoring pumpkin pine table (Bill Znoj)

I've heard the term used to describe a few different woods from reclaimed barn floorboards to old growth white pine heart wood, and flooring made from that heartwood. Your story sounds a little glorified, but basically it's probably the mature growth White Pine Heartwood...restoration tips wll be dependant on the type and condition of the existing surface. Does it appear to have a surface film finish?..or a more subtle oil or wax type finish? Were you able to find out any info on your particular piece?
