I recently bought an old Empire Dresser with veneer on the front parts. It seems to have a lot of oil and some dirt that has accumulated over the years. My question is - is it okay to use Naptha to clean off the old polishes? I'm not sure what was originally used to seal the piece - lacquer maybe? Just want to make sure Naptha is okay for something like this. My other question is what's the best thing to use to polish it from there? I have a tube of preservation polish (no silicone) that I think would work. A bit new to this but game to learn... Thanks for any advice,
Adam
