Amanda, When you restore something it is best to leave it as original as possible. With furniture that usually means no refinishing and.......no polishig brasswork. Both will hurt the value. Before you got and re-plate the brass, why not try just polishing it? Its probably a holdover from my days in the Navy, but i favor Brasso as a polish. Re-plating brass is kind of like re-silvering a mirror.......don't do it unless you have to. Where to get it plated I can't help you with though as I'm in Ohio. Roger
