There are some great non ammonia based metal polishes out there that should shine up the brass bezel fine, if you don't have ..or don't want to use a power tool...My favorite is Met-All Industries Brass and Copper polish. This stuff is a museum quality restorative polish for fine Brass and Copper surfaces. I buy it through a dealer in CT that specializes in Antique Copper and Brass items. www.met-all.com...Mother's car care company makes a paste polish called Mag and Aluminum polish that works great on brass. It comes in a small white can. Simichrome is another great one...be aware that 0000 steel wool will clean the brass but it will also scratch it and give the brass a brushed appearance rather than a bright polished appearance.Antique brass fittings can be quite soft..any scratching from steel wool can then be polished out,but better not to have to
