Own Lane Cedar Chest that has model # but no serial # which is what authorities use to identify and date these chests. I have recently been advised that prior to a certain date around 1930 that no serial # was used. If that can be verified it will help some in est. a date. The "burned" Lane emblem in the top also is absent the cedar trees that you see in most. Does that also indicate a time period? All this said, the piece is missing the feet or legs that were originally a part of it and I want to replace with what is appropriate. Also in identifying the style it has wooden stationary handles on either end and overall very plain straight lines.
