Hi thanks for such a quick response. To be honest with you my husband has been the refinsher and has not really done this befor! To begin with it had a factory finish of very dark wood. In the garage I think an animal was nibbling on it so it needed a wood filler. The minwax is a yellow can that says Wood Finish penetrates stains and seals I believe he first used varathane wood stain. Actually I am not sure if it was even completely dry. Now it remains sticky even after using the fine steel wool. Factory finish, varathane woodstain minwax wood finish . I think it has been drying forever.N0 kidding. Probably a couple of weeks I do not think this will dry. I sure hate to start over completely. Thank You Dawn
