I have an antique small ladies chair with stick and ball design which is an heirloom. The seat is round, about 12 inches. It was covered with an old ragged cloth seat but when I pulled out all the old nails and such there is clearly an original cane seat. There were no nails or holes for the orginal seat. It looks like the seat has an inset groove for the cane seat to be installed. How do I get it out without damage? Where/how do I replace the cane?
