ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

I thought I had a pair of really old chairs because of the unusual pegged construction. Someone has since told me the finish looked too new for old chairs. I am wondering if perhaps they have been refinished at some point in theirlife and thus the new appearance. I really think they are old. Can anyone help? I have several pictures that can be emailed or if anyone can tell me how to post pics on this board.

A big thanks for any clues.
