All of the things mentioned by James would help clue you in....but they're also mostly inside the frame. If you turn over the sofa and look underneath, you might see some evidence there...you may have to remove a muslin dust cover to actually see into the bottom...the frame is the real test....and the quality and age of the mahagonies used...
