Hey Roger, yeah acetone would be better..I had the chance to meet Norm and talk with him quite a bit...he's a very down to earth guy..drove to the appointment in his personal Bronco in his trademark flannel shirt..I have a patternmakers clamp in my shop that I had him autograph. I hear a lot of people badmouthing him from time to time...so I just ignore them..lol. Are you familiar with WilBond?..it's a mixture of several solvents like Acetone, methanol, toluene, naptha, and isoprpyl....it's made by Imperial and is a great prep solvent for many jobs, most good hardware and paint stores carry it....perfect for wiping off grime and oils...I use it after stripping before the next steps to make sure the surface is absolutely clean......a bit toxic perhaps....but probably why it works so well..it can also be added to finishes as an adhesion intensifier....and it will shorten drying times a bit to what its added to. What "poly" do you favor....I know you use it quite regularily and wondered what products you use? Happy Easter to all- Greg
