The B.F. Huntley Furniture Co. was organized in 1906 in Winston-Salem, NC. It had previously been operated as the Oakland Furniture Co. since 1898. It has passed through various ownership over the years. Many different styles were made over the years as fashions and preferences changed. The Simmons Co. held ownership of the stock from 1929 to 1935. Huntley furniture with a Simmons label was probably made during this period. The company passed back to the original owners in 1935. Fire destroyed the Huntley plant on Valentines Day in 1956, but the facility was rebuilt and showed samples at the October furniture market that year. In 1961, Huntley Furniture merged with Thomasville Chair Co. and the Huntley name disappeared. If you have any other information please email us at info@huntleycountrystore.com.
