There many factors that will determine the value of any thing you want to auction and safes are no different than any thing else. Start for the sake of argument, by looking at semilar items on ebay, see what seems important to other safe sellers. Do some sellers appear to have more experience with the process than most, what are their key intrests in these items in general? You will find that demand, proximity, condition, and pizzazz appeal are major factors. One or more of these factors will have to register highly in order to make the final price succesful to the seller. Especially important to most sellers is, the ability of the buyer to haul the item safely and in a timely manner. This is why old pianos, no matter how attractive and playable, are given away free, in many parts of the country. A big safe may be more of a museum item than general collectable, was there a famous bank robber in your area that couldn't get into this safe? Could you start a rumer that there was the possebility that the Marilyn Munroe kept her jewels in this safe for a week end? Do some reasearch and see what can make your safe more valuable. Then you may need to trade it for a nice cheep piano.
