In Response To: Re-finishing a Chest of Drawers (Tony Hoskins)

The chances that Tony has an exotic finish is pretty far fetched. We all know that 90% of all commercial finishes at lacquer, so strange chemicals shouldn't be needed. He has probably made the mistake of reading the directions on the can, whick says you only have to apply one application of stripper. As a mteer of course I apply two and with a painted surface, three or four. In all these years I have only found one finish I couldn't strip and that was milk paint.

I think that if Tony did one more coat of stripper and a good scrub down with lacquer thinner he would have it in hand.
