I recently received 8 chairs and a large table from my mother who passed away. It is not an antique, but it means alot to me.

I want to know the best way to refinish. It is finished in an oak stain. It is worn alot around the arms and on the seat. I really like the broyhill collection that is an antiqued black chair with a oak table. It is distressed black Not real sure how to go about it. Do I strip then spray paint? Do I sand then brush paint.

Help.. I can provide pictures to anyone who can help. Thank you!
