I have an oval cherry server with an inlay in the center. The overall condition is what leads to this question. There is about an 1/8" solid wood banding that runs around the edge of the server and creates a 1/2-3/4" lip for items to stay in the server. This band splintered and began to spring away from the edge of the server. I can carefully bend back in place, and create a fairly good match. I wanted to know the best way to go about repairing a very old and valuable(at least to me)server.
