ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

I have acquired a very different little games table which folds when not in use. It has felt on one side of the top and a maple veneer on the other. I have reglued the loose veneer and gotten all the rust off the cast feet. The felt is too badly ripped and worn to save. I want to use hide glue to glue down new felt but have never done that before. Has anyone out there got any tips.
Thanks Bob
