After months of stripping and sanding, I have finally stained my old Sellers Hoosier cabinet a nice golden oak. Now I am replacing the hinges, latches, pulls etc and would like to "age" the new brass. The commercial darkeners are subject to a $20.00 DOT Hazardous charge in addition to cost and shipping. What are suggestions for a local purchase?
What is the best type a wax/polish to preserve the wood and provide a nice patina? I'm not a big fan of high gloss shellac, but prefer that nice hand rubbed look. Thanks for a great forum.
MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL
