There is no more gumwood in Toronto, so for people who care about retaining or restoring the authentic appearance of their house, there is certainly value. In my neighbourhood (Broadview and Danforth), if you leave gumwood by the curbside it doesn't last very long. If you want to try and get someone to pay you for it, you could start with Home Again (homeagaininc.com) in Leaside on Research Rd. They buy and sell bits of houses of all ages, and are a fascinating place to visit.
