Pete, I recently bought "Gold Leaf. Application & antique Restoration by Ellen Becker"
I have not yet started my project but at first sight the book is comprehensive, impressive even.
I did , just now, look to see if leather was specifically covered but did not see it.
At the back of the book, 1998, in the resource list are 2 Chicago names The Decorators Supply corp, chicago, & W&B Gold Leaf , ditto
Perhaps if the book is not relevant then you might get help from either company.
