ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

I have a wood cash register that has 17 holes in the top that take clay marbles which drop into groves in the drawer below. The groves can take many marbles in each tray.
In the bottom drawer there are places for bills and coins as well as a center area for the marbles to fall into if you want to clear the groves.
Does anyone have any history about a cash register of this kind. Also, the top has a raised glass area that seems to be missing some parts.
If anyone has any information, I would appreciate the help.
