I purchased a china cabinet from a friend, it was his grandmothers so I'm guessing it's about 50 years old. It hasn't been taken care of and the finish looks dark and leather like. I used steel wool on it yesterday and now you can see some of the wood grain and it's brighter. I'm I doing the right thing? What else can I do to restore it and how do you cover over the marks on the legs where the finish is now gone? I've never done this before and don't want to ruin the cabinet but I would like to revive it. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Mary Anne
