Hi James,
Thanks for the input. I've piddled around with restorers (Minwax) in the past. Perhaps I don't get it but I have yet to have a successful result. It seems that if you are going to dissolve the original finish you may as well go all the way and strip it. I have had tremendous results with re-staining, Tried and True varnish then Briwax and steel wool. I can pretty much duplicate an old finish. Anything you might want to add on the restorers, I'd be interested in hearing.
