Antique Painted Statue

I have an antique, painted, wooden statue of St. Anthony circa mid 1800s. It is infested with Powder Post beetles, and I am afraid that I will have to burn it. Alternatively, I would be willing to move it to my garden if I could waterproof it. Can someone please recommend a clear finish to give me another few years with my beloved friend?
