Have you turned it over and looked carefully? These tables have massive extensions to take 6-8 leaves. Sometimes there was a latching mechanism..sometimes not...sometimes you just yanked with two people and it would come apart...and if it hasn't been done in a while it may be harder than you think to pull it apart..
