English Yew Drop-leaf table

I have acquired a beautiful Yew table with a splayed leg pedestal. It is very hard to put an age on it but I'd say it is early 1900's. The table top finish has crazed (random crackled) and has suffered from mildew. Can I save the original finish or is it best to strip and refinish?
