This sounds like a shellac finish with a moisture blush. The solution is to allow the moisture to evaporate off so the finish will once again be clear. Sometimes this will happen over a few days, one can hasten this with a little paint thinner, and a cotton rag, rub with the grain using light pressure. If the blush is stuburn or very extreme, you may need to use a spray product called blush remover/retarder. Spray it on the finish in light applications till the finish clears. One may also use a slightly alcohol dampened lint free cloth, make a quick swipe, with the grain, to lightly wet the area with the blush. Allow this to dry and then repeat as needed till the spot clears completely. Remember this will soften the finish, so be very sparing, and don't fiddle with the wet finish, even just a little. After the finish has had eight hours to harden back down, polish out any shine with 0000 steel wool. Buff evenly with the grain using long stright strokes. Next wax and polish the finish to protect from the next boo boo.
